Real Madrid's Karim Benzema arrested over alleged sex tape blackmail of teammate

Real Madrid's Karim Benzema and one time Rihanna fling, has been arrested in connection with an alleged sex tape blackmail involving his France teammate Mathieu Valbuena. According reports, Benzema is suspected of plotting to extort money from Valbuena in exchange for withholding the sex tape involving Valbuena and a lover, from the public.

Part of the investigations around the case also saw former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse taken into custody and later released.

According to media reports, Benzema mentioned the tape to Valbuena during a team meeting in October. Police are now attempting to find out if the conversation between the two players involved payment regarding the tape.

The prosecutor has placed Benzema under formal criminal investigation, with a source close to the case saying: "We can confirm that he is being questioned over his role in this affair".

Benzema can be held and questioned for up to 48 hours, but his lawyer, Sylvain Cormier, says the striker is relaxed as he did nothing wrong

"He came to respond to some questions. He is fine. He had nothing to do with this blackmail case. "He's pleased, even satisfied, that he can end this controversy once and for all".the lawyer said

Earlier this year, Karim Benzema was cleared of underage sex charges in France.

Rick Ross got engaged a few weeks ago to former stripper Lira Galore and he's already calling it off? The bad mouthing of Lira got to him? But at least she gets to keep the ring. TMZ reports below...

Rick Ross and Lira Galore have called off their engagement, less than 2 months after making the leap. We're told they had a major blowout, although it's unclear what it was about - but it was serious enough that Lira moved her stuff out of Rozay's Georgia mansion.

Ross spontaneously popped the question back in mid-September while they were jewelry shopping in New York. They'd only been dating a few months at that point.

As for the giant 11 carat, $350k rock he gave Lira ... so far there's been no discussion on whether she'll return it. She still had it on her ring finger in a photo she posted a day ago.

The good news for Rick -- legally speaking, the ring is a gift in contemplation of marriage. Translation: Lira gotta give it back.

Though she might want to reconcile ... after talking to a lawyer.

The couple who did their first movie together in 10 years praised each other in a new interview to promote the movie, By The Sea, written and directed by Jolie. Speaking about her decision to undergo preventative double mastectomy in 2013, and the surgery to remove her ovaries earlier this year, Brad said;

'There was no vanity to my wife's approach,' the 51-year-old said. 'It was mature. There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.'

Angelina, 40, went on to discuss how her mother had a secret pact with her surgeon. 

'We had some of the same nurses, some of the same doctors,' she told interviewer, Tom Brokaw. "So, the doctor that did my ovary surgery was my mother's doctor. And apparently my mother had said to her, "Promise me you will take Angie's ovaries out." So when we kind of got together, we both had a big cry, and she said, "I promised your mother, and I gotta do this."

"We can't say what the whole film is about, but a lot of the film was when I went to visit my mom in the hospital, when she found out she had cancer the first time, she was gonna have her ovaries removed, (and) she was very upset, feeling like... they're taking out her parts that were female, and there was a woman down the hall who was wailing. I later found out it was a young woman who had not had children yet, and that put everything into perspective.'

'Every woman is different when they go through menopause, and...I didn't know emotionally how I would feel,' the star admitted. 'I knew the breast would be a bigger surgery and physically changing. The ovaries is more, your hormones changing and your emotions changing, but it's different. You feel different.' 

'She was doing it for the kids,' the actor said proudly of his wife, 'and she was doing it for her family so we could be together.'

Angelina Jolie said her health experience strengthened their marriage.

'I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn't something where I was gonna feel less of a woman because my husband wasn't gonna let that happen. To face these issues together and speak about them and talk about what it is to be human, I think can be a beautiful thing.'

Roger Federer got the better of old foe Rafa Nadal for the first time in more than three years to win a seventh Basel title 6-3 5-7 6-3. Federer, whose rivalry with Nadal is one of the most storied in tennis history, had not beaten the Spaniard since he won a semi-final at Indian Wells in 2012 and had lost their last five meetings.

Playing his 12th final in his home town, Federer survived a break point in his opening service game before grabbing the upper hand.


The Swiss broke twice to take the opening set and then went about putting pressure on third seed Nadal at the start of the second, crafting a break point at 3-2 ahead.

Nadal, however, dug deep to stay in the contest and then claimed his first break of the match for a 6-5 lead as Federer netted a backhand, leaving the Mallorcan to serve out to love.

The Swiss broke decisively to lead 5-3 in the third set and then served out to take the title, the 88th of his career, after two hours and three minutes of battle.

Here is another revelation about yesterday's plane crash. Nigerian ‘Prophet’ T.B. Joshua has released another controversial YouTube clip, claiming he predicted the tragic Russian plane crash in Egypt well over one year ago. 

On Sunday 31st August 2014, the cleric, who is famed for his alleged ability to foretell the future, warned of an impending plane crash involving Russia. 

"It will not be between Ukraine and Russia this time but a close region, a neighbouring region," he stated, warning passenger planes to be careful of the routes they take over such volatile areas. I am seeing a full load of passengers crash again," he declared. 

On Saturday 31st October 2015, a Russian jet tragically crashed while flying across the Sinai peninsula in Egypt en-route to St Petersburg, killing all 224 on board. 

"We pray for all those involved in this tragic incident, that God would comfort and strengthen them in this difficult time," the clip on the YouTube channel ‘Emmanuel TV’ concluded.

Russian Plane With 224 Passengers Onboard Crashes Over Sinai, Egypt

A Kogalymavia passenger plane carrying 224 people has crashed in Egypt's Sinai penunsula. The airliner took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik this morning, and was heading for Russia, according to aviation sources, when it disappeared from radar.

It Is believed the plane was mainly carrying Russian tourists. The plane was carrying 212 passengers and 7 crew members. 17 of the passengers are children. Airbus A321 left Sharm-El-Sheikh for St. Petersburg with flight number 7K9268. It belongs to airline Metrojet and was 18.5 years old and was descending with about 6000 feet per minute just before signal was lost.

The captain told ATC after departure of a technical fault and requested a route change. Local media says a recovery team is now at the site of the crash.
